As we enter into the summer season, many of you are planning vacations with family and friends, trips to the pool, and week-long camps and Bible schools. Unfortunately for our Jay’s HOPE families, summer fun can be hard to come by. Their days will be filled with endless doctor appointments, countless treatments, and overnight stays in the hospital. Combined with weakened immune systems and financial strain, summer trips and activities are usually out of the question.
After seeing a need to provide some summertime fun, fellowship, and recreation for our patients and their siblings, we created the Jay’s HOPE summer camp. Camp HOPE is a week-long day camp that is offered free of charge to our patients and their siblings because of donors like you. Over the past seven years, it has become a safe place for hundreds of children ages 4-18 who have been touched by cancer. It’s a place where lifelong connections are made, silliness and joy abound, Hope in Jesus is shared, and a sense of normalcy is restored. One of our campers recently said it best: “My favorite part of Camp HOPE is that everyone here is just like me, and I can be a normal kid.”
Camp HOPE is one of the many programs and services we provide to the families we serve. From travel expenses to treatment, and from help with prescription costs not covered by insurance to tutoring and education services, Jay’s HOPE stands in the gap and relieves burdens throughout the year. So, as you are finalizing your summer plans, we are asking for your help. Would you consider bringing a little Hope and sunshine to children with cancer with a donation to Jay’s HOPE? We could not accomplish the things we do without you!
On behalf of all our brave little warriors, we thank you for your support! May God bless you and your family with a safe summer, full of fun memories and many blessings!
In HOPE,
Cindy
